New Head of PE Services at Grant Thornton

Grant Thornton has named Carlos Ferreira as its national managing partner for private equity beginning on August 1, 2020. Mr. Ferreira retains his position as the global co-leader for transaction advisory services at Grant Thornton.

Mr. Ferreira succeeds Doug Gawrych, who will retire at the end of this fiscal year in accordance with Grant Thornton’s mandatory retirement policy. Mr. Gawrych joined Grant Thornton in 2002 after spending 22 years at Arthur Andersen. He was named the national managing partner of private company services in 2018 and was the managing partner for the firm’s Florida market territory beginning in 2011.

Mr. Ferreira has nearly 25 years of global experience – Europe, South America, Africa, North America, and Asia – providing professional services including buy- and sell-side due diligence; risk and opportunity assessment; and integration and exits for private equity firms. Sectors where he has direct experience include business services, manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, automotive and technology. Mr. Ferreira joined Grant Thornton (Kessel Feinstein Grant Thornton – Pretoria, South Africa) as an audit associate in 1996 and was named a partner with the firm in its New York office in 1999. He became Grant Thornton’s global co-leader of transaction advisory services in May 2019.

“Carlos is an outstanding leader who will step into a critical role during a time of historic disruption and uncertainty,” said Brad Preber, CEO of Grant Thornton. “He will ensure we are consistently providing quality, value and innovative solutions to help our private equity clients.”

Founded in Chicago in 1924, Grant Thornton is the US member firm of Grant Thornton International, one of the world’s largest audit, tax and advisory firms. The firm has revenues in excess of $1.9 billion and operates more than 50 offices with more than 590 partners and 8,500 employees.
