O2 Investment Partners has named Sam Wegenke as the firm’s newest associate.
At O2, Mr. Wegenke will be actively evaluating new transactions, conducting due diligence, underwriting new investments, and working with the firm’s portfolio company management teams.
“On behalf of O2, we are pleased to have Sam join the team and believe his relevant transaction experience and skill set will be an asset to the firm as we continue to scale our portfolio and explore new opportunities,” said Luke Plumpton, a partner at O2.
Beginning in 2019, Mr. Wegenke was an analyst in the corporate finance group at Houlihan Lokey where he provided sell-side mergers and acquisitions advice to industrial and specialty distribution clients. Earlier in his career, he was an analyst at middle-market investment bank The McLean Group. Mr. Wegenke has his undergraduate degree from Michigan State and his MBA from Duke.
O2 makes control investments in companies with enterprise values from $10 million to $100 million and EBITDA from $4 million to $15 million that are located anywhere in the US and Canada. Sectors of interest include business-to-business services, technology, and select niche industrial companies.
In January 2021, O2 held a final closing of O2 Investment Partners Fund III LP with $270 million in capital commitments. The firm is based in the Detroit suburb of Bloomfield Hills and was founded in 2010.
